Why We Build the Way We Do at JDM Structures
JDM Structures was started in 1992 with a simple dream: to build innovative structures that people could rely on. We started with storage sheds and small garages, but within a couple years we began building weekend cabins and ranch houses. As JDM grew over the past thirty years, one thing has stayed the same — our commitment to reflect the hand of God through the quality and integrity of our work and in the way we treat others.
Industry Challenges
Through growth there are challenges and over the years, we’ve learned what works and what areas we can improve in our industry. One of the biggest challenges we noticed early on was the amount of time it took to build a structure on site, especially when traveling long distances. When a structure is exposed during the construction process, it has a greater chance of weather impacting the material before the structure is completely dried in.
That’s one of the reasons we made the decision to prefabricate our wall panels and building components in-house.
Industry Solutions Through Innovation
By building walls and components in a controlled environment, we reduce construction time significantly once we arrive on site. Less time in the elements means less opportunity for moisture to get inside the building before it’s sealed. That matters more than most people realize. Moisture intrusion during construction can lead to long-term issues such as structural damage, mold growth, and even poor indoor air quality.
Our in-house panelization process allows us to maintain a higher level of quality control, which helps to prevent moisture intrusion. By keeping our materials out of the weather and assembled in a controlled setting, the result is a more durable and consistent product. Every JDM wall panel is built with intention and care before it leaves our facility.
A Better Customer Experience
Quality and durability go hand in hand with customer experience. When we reduce build time in the field, we also reduce waste and improve efficiency. That means less disruption for the customer and a smoother overall building process. From the initial order to the final inspection, our goal is to make the experience straightforward and dependable.
Our Commitment to You
As JDM continues to grow, our commitment to our customers remains the same. We are committed to constantly refining our products and processes through innovation and by looking for ways to better serve and bring more value to our customers. Whether it’s exploring better materials, staying on top of color trends, improving our panelization methods, we are always looking for ways to do better.
Our industry continues to evolve, and so do we. But one thing will not change: our purpose to reflect the hand of God through the quality and integrity of our work and in the way we treat others.
That’s why we build the way we do.
